About Dodd & Co Services Limited
It’s over 30 years since Dodd & Co formed and we’ve come a long way since that first small office in Carlisle.
So, here we are in today, after years of blood, sweat and occasional tears in our two fantastic offices in Carlisle and Penrith.
Our unique approach has always been forward thinking; planning for the future. We look at our clients’ business from their perspective and use our knowledge to support them and improve their financial performance. It’s not just about a set of accounts and a tax return. We add personality to our service, after all we’re running a business too, so we’ll share our know how, be honest and tell it how it is!
We are good at what we do because we all enjoy our work. By working in sectors that interest us our partners and staff can fully understand your business and the issues you face. We have specialists in many industry sectors including farming, healthcare, tourism, legal practice, charities, construction, care homes, academy schools and general business.
Today’s businesses are moving rapidly with technology. We keep our systems updated and are ahead of the game by constantly improving our knowledge and expertise. This is something we’ve always believed and invested in. Who would have thought we would be entering the age of “cloud accounting”!
Today Dodd & Co have 11 partners and over 130 staff working in our two fantastic offices: FIFTEEN Rosehill in Carlisle and Clint Mill in Penrith. We have clients up and down the country, travelling being no issue, but our home is Cumbria and always will be.
The Dodd & Co team are essential to the success of our business, we wouldn’t be what we are now without them. We are always looking out for enthusiastic individuals who wish to develop their skills and work for a well established firm of Chartered Accountants.
Our Apprenticeships in Accounting is a great starting point for a career at Dodd & Co, with an emphasis on workplace learning, it incorporates the AAT qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians). We welcome applications from all, including school leavers.
Others combine work with studying for the ACA (the professional qualification offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales). Dodd & Co Limited provide support in the form of funding and study leave. We are proud that the majority of the Chartered Accountants working at Dodd & Co have been trained in-house.
Each year we aim to recruit two graduates to train as Chartered Accountants. The Chartered Accountants graduate training programme takes a minimum of three years to complete and leads to ACA qualification and membership of the ICAEW.
