Based in the West End of London with a client base to rival the largest professional firms, Blick Rothenberg is in a league of its own. Activities fall into three main areas: inward investment, tax and investment advice to private clients and business advice to owner managed small and medium-sized businesses. Trainees are exposed to a variety of client work, providing accounting, corporation tax, management advice and due diligence services. A trainee starts as a junior member of a small team, with a typical assignment lasting a couple of weeks. After about a year, perhaps earlier, trainees start planning and carrying out small assignments independently, first at the office where they can turn to other staff for advice, then at a client's premises. Trainees also have the opportunity to attend integrated link courses run by a leading financial training company to prepare them for their professional examinations. Blick Rothenberg look for students who really want to work in an independent medium sized firm. Potential trainees should be ambitious, enterprising and analytically excellent. Good communication skills are a must, as are the personal skills necessary to maintain good relations with colleagues and work as a member of a team.
