Successful applicants will:

  • have obtained or expect to obtain a 2.2 degree (in a relevant or non- relevant degree subject)

  • have obtained or expect to obtain 300 UCAS points in three A-level subjects

  • be able to provide evidence of self-motivation, communication and team working skills in their application

Your development

Our trainees take responsibility early on. You can expect to be working directly with our clients as soon as you join us. Initially you will work closely with more senior staff, this enables you to learn about our processes and our clients businesses quickly, under the guidance of an experienced professional.

You will gain experience working across the breadth of our business including audit and statutory accounts, management accounting, employment taxes (including payroll and tronc allocations for the hospitality sector), corporation tax, and personal tax.

You will be given a clear path for progression and development.  For example, you will quickly progress to running some assignments by yourself, dealing directly with our clients and reporting to managers. By the end of your ACA training contract you will be project managing some of our largest assignments including supervising other team members, to ensure we meet our clients’ expectations.

Delivering exceptional client service is key to both your success and our own. Your training will equip you to develop both the technical and interpersonal skills you need to become a valued adviser.

You will be assigned a personal mentor who provides help and guidance throughout your training contract and once you qualify. In addition, there are regular review meetings with your line manager to help you keep on track.  These will cover:

  • work and exam progress

  • training needs

  • personal goals and objectives

  • career path

Selection process

Successful applicants will be asked to take a number of on-line assessments. These help us ensure that you have the literacy, numeracy and verbal reasoning abilities you will need to succeed at WMT.

Candidates who pass the on-line tests will be invited to attend our office for an interview. This will give us the opportunity to get to know you better and for you to find out more about WMT and the people that work here.  We will also ask you to undertake a short case study which provides us with an opportunity to assess your communication and problem-solving skills.
