Job Description

The selection process for our 2020 Placement opportunities is now underway and we are accepting applications from students who are thinking of a career within the professional world of accountancy or corporate finance.

Keen to secure a year-long professional placement to help make up your mind?  BHP may have just the role for you, in the form of placements commencing in August 2020 and running for 12 months.

We have roles available in either our multi award-winning Audit & Accounts or Corporate Finance teams.

Typically, students return to BHP post-graduation to undertake an ACA training agreement – a placement is the ideal way to “try out” your planned career before committing longer-term.

To be considered, you will need:

  • a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points (excluding General Studies), and;

  • be on course for a minimum of a 2:1 degree.

Please note that if you do not meet these minimum entry criteria, your application cannot be considered.

In addition to your academic ability, you will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm and commitment to work with BHP and provide our clients with the high quality of professional service which they expect from us.  Personality and inter-personal skills are fundamental to BHP’s success and are just as important as academic ability – our clients expect to deal with approachable, responsive people who communicate at their level and instinctively understand their commercial concerns; people who will go that extra mile to find a solution and offer them the very best support and advice.

Our placement opportunities (based in Leeds or Sheffield) are a highly sought-after, interesting and rewarding way to find out if accountancy or corporate finance might be the career for you.
