Job Description

Reporting to the Audit and Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with audit jobs for clients both in house and out of the office, as well as the preparation of year end accounts.  You will continue studying for the relevant professional experience with a view to becoming a qualified accountant.

  • Briefs junior staff on the budget for all work delegated
  • Demonstrates an awareness of the need to communicate anticipated variances against the agreed budget prior to spending the additional time
  • Begins involvement in billing process – providing analysis and summaries, together with explanations for variances
  • Starts involvement in planning process – learning how to analyse what is required, document scope and prepare estimates/budgets
  • Demonstrates consistent basic technical competence on all clients
  • Builds technical ability by seeking to understand complex technical or advisory work encountered
  • Demonstrates ability to manage jobs and time effectively, encompassing budget as well as client service dimensions
  • Consistently provides junior staff with an appropriate briefing
  • Develops ability to delegate effectively
  • Ensure that delegated work is completed by junior staff and is fully reviewed
  • Provides on the job training to junior staff, together with timely feedback on learning/development points
  • Develops awareness of specific expertise within the Firm
