Job Description

Sitting in the Corporate Team, you will be dealing with both audits and accounts jobs for our larger corporate clients. The successful candidate will carry out audits both in, but primarily out of, the office and be responsible for producing audit files for review. Depending on experience, you may act as a mentor for junior team members, carrying out performance assessments, and providing on the job training, as well as supervising them at client’s premises.

You will carry out review work on audits and accounts prepared by colleagues, aiming to achieve or exceed the budgeted fees and recoveries. You will help build and maintain successful relationships with clients and provide ongoing critiques of, and improvements to, auditing and accounting processes.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct audits, primarily out of the office
  • Produce audit files for review
  • Carry out review work on audits and accounts jobs prepared by colleagues
  • Act as mentor for junior team members and provide day to day training
  • Supervise junior team members in the office and at clients’ premises and provide assistance as required
  • Conduct assignment and performance reviews
  • Anticipate and overcome difficulties on audits and larger accounts jobs
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with clients
  • Identify and suggest improvements to audit and accounting processes

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

 

  • Part Qualified /Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
  • Proven audit experience, gained in a practice environment
  • Experience of completing audit and accounts work
  • Possess a high level of technical knowledge combined with excellent commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience
  • Proficient in the use of computerised audit and accounting systems
  • Very good IT skills
  • Ability to identify commercial and professional risks and ensure these are managed effectively
  • Ability to work on own initiative with a proactive approach to work
  • Project a professional manner and appearance at all times
  • Dependable and reliable team player
  • Track record of successfully managing, motivating and leading junior staff on assignments
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Driver with access to a car
