Job Description

Job Purpose


Reporting to the Departmental Manager and Partners, this position involves working in our Business Services team, focused on providing outsourced bookkeeping support and assisting clients in the day to day accounting needs of their business.  This role will evolve to take responsibility for a portfolio of clients.



Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provide outsourced bookkeeping support to our clients, controlling and reporting on deadlines
  • Close liaison with clients
  • Preparation and review of VAT returns for clients
  • Preparation of management accounts and board packs for clients
  • Provision of training to clients on various accounting software packages
  • Completion of year end to efficiently enable annual accounts and tax preparation
  • Assistance with the training and development of more junior members in the team
  • Travel and work from client premises when required



Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Experience of working with Sage, Xero and Quickbooks preferred
  • AAT level 3 or qualified by experience
  • Previous and demonstrable bookkeeping experience
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK
  • Ability to prioritise workload in order to achieve work deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good timekeeping skills
  • Displaying a professional attitude in all aspects of their work
  • Ability to communicate with different levels of employees and client staff
  • Ability to use initiative to assist clients without direct support
  • Team player able to develop good relationships with clients and within the firm
  • Ability to mentor junior members of staff
  • Ability to work well under pressure
