Job Description

Leathers is an established, multi-disciplinary firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors based in Newcastle, Durham and Harrogate serving clients both across the UK and worldwide, with a solid reputation for delivering high quality projects and value-added service.

Leathers seek Chartered Accountancy trainees to join a bright, forward thinking and dedicated team.  Candidates must be hardworking, focused and good team players who have experience of taking responsibility and are able to work to deadlines.

Throughout the training contract, trainees will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients across various disciplines.  The successful trainee’s primary role will be participating in statutory audit work and preparation of company accounting records (including year end statutory accounts).  However there will be opportunities to prepare clients’ management accounts and assist with tax work, as well as more diverse work such as group restructures, tax planning and business advisory.

In light of the current climate we have taken the decision to reopen our application process for our 2020 graduate intake for anyone who has not previously applied in the last 12 months.

The successful candidates will be based within the Accounts and Audit Department to obtain practical experience whilst attending structured training for exams through a national training provider.  Full support will be provided to train as a Chartered Accountant under a suitable training contract.

The candidates will be expected to sit the necessary professional examinations over the period of the training contract for the chosen route.  The firm will provide full training and financial support for these professional examinations.

If you have had a place retracted, your gap year plans have fallen through, or the pandemic has just given you time to rethink your career plans please get in touch.  We are accepting new applications from today.

To apply please send your CV along with a covering letter detailing your interest in the role and the firm.
