Job Description

Absolutely no applications accepted from recruitment agents, candidates must apply directly to be considered.

Brooks Carling is currently seeking one graduate to join our team to study for either the ACA or ACCA accountancy qualification.

In addition to a competitive salary and flexible benefits, we offer full study support towards gaining your qualification and internal training to maximise your personal and technical skills. The life of a trainee at Brooks Carling is busy and varied and full of client work, travel, study and challenges but because we are a small firm, we offer a genuinely excellent work-life balance to give you the best chance of succeeding.

What we offer you

Brooks Carling is a mixed firm of ACA and ACCA qualified accountants. As a small practice and as part of a dynamic and friendly team, you will be exposed to a wide variety of experience that you would not get from being in one department at a large practice. Audit work will form a significant and important part of the programme, but there will also be statutory accounts, corporation tax, personal tax and other taxes, as well being able to be involved in seeing clients grow from start-ups to successful businesses.

What we expect

Our trainees come from a variety of different backgrounds and we do not require our trainees to have a business or financial background as we will provide all training. However, we do ask that applicants for our trainee programme have at least a 2.2 degree in any discipline and GCSE grades C or above in English and Mathematics and most importantly an enthusiasm to learn. Accountancy is more than just ‘doing the numbers’, and the successful candidate will also be personable, confident and outgoing as the role will include a significant amount of client contact.

CVs will only be considered if accompanied by the following:

  • a covering letter or email explaining
  • why you want to train as an accountant,
  • why you have chosen to apply to Brooks Carling, and;
  • your location, please be more specific than 'England' or 'London'

If you don't meet the job requirements, then please also explain what alternative qualification or experience you have that demonstrates why we should still consider your application.

We will be closing the job listing once we have selected applicants for interview.
