Job Description

Graduate Trainee Accountant role

At Isosceles, we want to hear from graduates who are looking to train to professional accountancy status with ACA and build a great future as an accountant.

To ensure you succeed we’ll provide the training and support you need, coupled with the responsibility and autonomy to allow you to grow. You’ll work with experienced professionals and face the kind of challenges that turn smart graduates into confident accountants.

About Isosceles

We’re not a traditional accounting practice - we provide bespoke outsourced accounting, advisory, control and strategic financial support for successful, growing businesses in a range of industries. We are looking for people who share our passion and enthusiasm to ensure that our clients flourish.

But it's not all about work. Our trainees are all encouraged to make a wider contribution through wider initiatives such as fund raising for nominated charities, sports and social activities.

About you

You’ll be a recent graduate who achieved a minimum 2.1 first degree. You’ll have to quickly establish yourself as an integral part of both the Isosceles and your clients’ teams, so you’ll thrive working in a collaborative environment. As an aspiring accountant, you’ll have strong organisation and numeracy skills, with a natural focus on accuracy and detail. You’ll have the determination needed to train to be a professional, the ambition to be a Finance Director and the self-awareness to find the right balance between your study, work and social lives.

About the role

Working with a team of professionals at various levels in their accounting career, you’ll learn the full range of core accounting skills such as management of ledgers; fixed asset registers; expenses; bank reconciliations; cash flow analysis and balance sheet, as well as getting involved in audit. You’ll have exposure to and be responsible for client work from the very beginning so you’ll quickly build your own portfolio of clients and or/ areas of technical expertise.

We’ll fund your studies and give you the time and support you need to succeed.  But it’s more than that. If you work with us, you’ll not just qualify as an accountant, you’ll also learn to be a consultant.

Have a look around our website to get a better idea of what we do, who we are and what it’s like to work here.

What you need

Our minimum requirements are:

  • Already graduated with 2:1 degree or higher, ideally in a discipline with a numeracy base.
  • 3 A Levels (or equivalent), with at least two at Grades A*-B.
  • Strong GCSE grades, including Maths and English.
  • Passionate about working with people and  strong at networking & relationship building
  • Strong IT skills and a confident user of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel.
  • The right to work in the UK.

If you are still studying towards your degree, we’ll be recruiting again later in the year. Please don’t apply for this role as we’re looking for an early start.
