BHP are one of the North of England's leading independent firms of chartered accountants, with over 350 people at our offices in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Cleckheaton, Leeds and York. We are ranked within the Top 40 firms nationally by Accountancy Age and offer a whole range of business and advisory services to our clients who operate across the entire business spectrum.
The selection process for our Summer 2018 Graduate opportunities is now underway and we are accepting applications from students keen to begin their career within the professional world of accountancy (in Sheffield and Chesterfield) or taxation (in Sheffield).
This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career, working with friendly and supportive colleagues on a range of interesting and varied client assignments, whilst gaining your professional qualifications.
There are two routes; Accountancy and Taxation, although there is no guarantee that both routes are offered every year in every location:
1. Accountancy encompasses full study support for the ICAEW’s Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification.
2. Taxation encompasses full study support for the Tax Technician (ATT) qualification initially. Successful students will typically then complete further study for the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification.
To be considered, you will need to be on course for a minimum of a 2:1 degree and have 112 UCAS tariff points (excluding General Studies).
In addition to your academic ability, you will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm and commitment to work with BHP and provide our clients with the high quality of professional service which they expect from us. Personality and inter-personal skills are fundamental to BHP’s success and are just as important as academic ability – our clients expect to deal with approachable, responsive people who communicate at their level and instinctively understand their commercial concerns; people who will go that extra mile to find a solution and offer them the very best support and advice.
Both routes encompass a fully supported training agreement, which covers all of the costs associated with your professional training, including a generous amount of study leave to attend tuition, revision and the exams themselves during the daytime delivered in partnership with our key training providers. Developing your technical knowledge in this way and utilising it on a variety of interesting client assignments with the support and guidance of our experienced, knowledgeable senior team, means you have the basics to ensure your success in the professional examinations and ultimately progress your career.
Our Graduate opportunities are highly sought-after, interesting and rewarding opportunities to commence your accountancy or taxation career with the region’s largest independent accountancy practice. If you are keen to become an accountant or tax adviser, there is no better place to begin than BHP.
Please note, however, that BHP are not licensed to sponsor visa applications and, therefore, we are unable to accept applications from candidates who do not have the right to work in the UK.
