The McDonald's Trainee Graduate Accountant scheme is open for applications now, for a Summer 2021 start.
We have an exciting opportunity to join the McDonald's Finance Graduate Scheme, with the successful candidate starting in Summer 2021. The role is a structured, broad three-year rotational scheme specifically crafted for final year undergraduates looking to join a robust Finance Team. As part of the program you will complete up to 16 exams over a 3-year period in order to gain accreditation to a chartered accounting body of your choice. The scheme will provide continuous rotational opportunities and is an outstanding opportunity for an aspirational graduate to gain experience in some of the following areas:
- Global Business Services (GBS) – Accounting & Finance
Within this team, you will be an accounting and finance subject matter specialist. Ensuring that all accounting transactions are recorded timely, accurately and with compliance to relevant standards and principles. You will provide support and mentorship across the organisation on all financial matters and see opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes to ensure the robustness of the financial documents and reporting.
- Operations Finance
In this area you will assist in the provision of key financial support to our restaurant operators (partners,
working with partners throughout the business to further improve our restaurants financial position.
- Strategic Finance
In this team you will work closely with a wide range of partners, acting as a true financial business
associate to help deliver our business strategy and strengthen our brand for the future.
- Financial Reporting
As a member of the Financial Reporting team, you would be a trusted finance adviser for the entire
organisation. Providing in depth financial analysis of how our business has performed to help drive future
decisions to grow our business. You will also be hands on learning and guiding on technical accounting
and reporting standards.
- Capex Accounting
You will be a dependable financial business partner for the business, providing financial expertise to aid
investment decisions across the entire business and help to maintain a current and accurate fixed asset
ledger. You will help to appraise investment decisions and proving financial analysis to key partners.
The new Trainee will initially rotate through roles within the Global Business Services (GBS) Finance
Team, based in Sutton Coldfield (near Birmingham), and then move to our Head Office in East Finchley,
North London where they will complete their training.
Upon completion of the scheme there are significant opportunities within the Finance Team to tackle
more challenging and leadership roles. The scheme offers an extraordinary start to a career within
Finance, with previous trainees who have finished the scheme going on to hold senior management
positions across the business. Examples include our current Finance Director, who completed the
scheme 11 years ago, our Head of GBS Finance who completed the scheme 18 years ago, and our Head of Strategic Finance who completed the scheme 7 years ago.
• To collaborate closely with external suppliers and all internal Corporate and Regional
• Build collaborative relationships with the wider Finance team.
• Develop a close working relationship with key contacts in Construction & Property, Supply Chain,
Marketing and IT teams.
Knowledge and Experience:
We are looking for a results-oriented, self-motivated and hardworking graduate to join our fast-paced
finance team. The successful candidate will have graduated with a 2:1 in any relevant subject area and
should expect to get going quickly! The candidate should have at least 3 B's (Or equivalent UCAS Points)at A-Level and a passion for Finance.
