The role

Due to rapid growth, we are now looking for a Part-Qualified/Qualified Accountant for our office in Penistone, South Yorkshire.

Reporting into the Director/Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, board reports, weekly and/or monthly KPI’s, administering invoice discounting facilities, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns and employee payroll.

You will be one of the main points of contact for clients within your portfolio, responsible for dealing with ad-hoc queries in a timely and efficient manner.

In addition, you will have the opportunity assist the Director/Financial Controller with advisory engagements, focusing on budgeting and cash flow forecasting.

The successful candidate

To be considered you will be part-qualified ACA or have developed suitable experience within practice or industry.

The successful applicant will also:

  • have good written and verbal communication skills
  • have excellent IT skills, including Excel
  • have a working knowledge of accounting systems e.g. Xero/Sage
  • be detail orientated and work to a high degree of accuracy
  • have the ability to prioritise their own workload and that of junior team members

Experience of working for a firm of accountants or recruitment business in a similar position would be an advantage.


An annual salary of £25,000 to £30,000 FTE, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, continuous training and development (including study support where applicable) and contributory pension scheme.
