Position: ACA part Qualified Trainee Accountant

Salary: competitive dependent on exam status and experience

We are delighted to offer this excellent opportunity for a part qualified accountant to join our modern, forward thinking audit and accounts department at Clarkson Hyde LLP.

Based in Sutton, Surrey, we have been providing accounting and tax services to SME clients for 98 years (and counting!). Specialisms within the firm range from: auditing, accounting, tax planning, VAT, payroll services, corporate finance and bookkeeping.

We can offer a competitive starting salary which will increase as you progress through the prestigious ACA qualification and full study support from us whilst you train. This includes college course costs and exam entry fees, paid for by us, and study leave to attend college (both classroom and online courses).

The successful applicant’s main roles will be:

  • Auditing of SME and large companies (both in-house and on-site at clients)
  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Bookkeeping

We are looking for candidates who are: enthusiastic, in possession of great communication skills, independent thinkers, strong team players, proficient in I.T. and most importantly have an enthusiasm to learn. They must have existing practice experience, including audit.

The ideal candidate will have the experience to take the lead role on audits and be responsible for reviewing the work of newer trainees. There is potential for progression post qualification for the right candidate.

Strong academic performance is vital so that we know you have the necessary potential when taking the professional exams. Therefore, candidates must have as a minimum:

  • Achieved a 2.1 in any degree discipline (or be on track to do so)
  • Achieved at least a grade 6 in both Maths and English GCSE qualifications.
  • Have achieved first time passes on all professional exams attempted to date.

A full UK driving license is preferable.
