Job Description

Job Descriptions:

 

  • Prepare assets, liabilities, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing financial statements and other reports for management, shareholders, statutory or other bodies
  • Compare with previous financial statements, reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
  • Maintaining bookkeeping of clients in house and in clients’ premises
  • Liaise with clients regarding any missing information and answer client’s queries
  • Registering clients for self-assessment preparing client’s tax returns and file them correctly on time; meanwhile, advise clients regarding any tax problems and financial consequences
  • Registering clients for the VAT and preparing the quarterly VAT returns
  • Produce payroll for each client on a monthly basis in line with Real Time Information, liaise with clients regarding any changes in payroll including starters and leavers
  • Deliver statutory Companies House annual returns
  • Audit planning and assistance with on-field audit as well as finishing off audit files in-house,
  • Detecting and preventing fraud, conducting financial investigations concerning fraud and errors
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Continuously manage financial systems and budgets
  • Advise clients on tax planning (within current legislation to enable them to minimise their tax liability) and tax issues associated with activities such as business acquisitions and mergers
  • Counsel clients on areas of business improvement
  • Arrange financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting

 

The skills, qualifications and experience needed

 

  • Experience in a similar role, should be desirable if candidates have experience in accounting practice
  • Degree educated, part qualified ACCA or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of IRIS Accounts Production, Business Tax, Personal Tax, IRIS Company Secretarial and IRIS
  • PAYE Master, Sage 50
  • Knowledge of Mercia Audit Manual
  • Good knowledge of current industry updates and changes in IAS, IFRS
  • Good organisational skills,
  • Excellent communicator
