Calder & Co is a general practice accounting firm based in the heart of London. We provide services ranging from tax advice to statutory audit work for a broad range of clients. 

The Job

This an exciting opportunity for a newly graduated candidate looking to start their career in Accountancy.

The successful candidate will take immediate responsibility for assisting with accounts work including providing book keeping advice to clients, preparation & submission of quarterly VAT returns, preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns and research work for tax planning. In time, as your experience grows, you will be more heavily involved in audit work and more advanced accounts preparation. You will be working as part of a team which reports directly to one of the partners and will work closely with the partner on many assignments.

As well as on the job training, full study support will be provided with a view to studying  ACA or ACCA.

Requirements

Academic:

  • 2:2 or above degree in any discipline
  • 3 A levels with grade BBB or higher (or equivalent) including Mathematics and excluding General Studies
  • Grade B or higher in GCSE Mathematics and English Language (or equivalent)

Personal

You will be expected to have excellent language and communication skills, both written and oral. A professional and ethical approach is required as well as being able to demonstrate the ability to work independently. Computer skills in Excel are essential and any other software experience is an advantage.

You must be a personable, open and honest individual who is looking to learn and work hard in order to meet deadlines; therefore good organisational skills are imperative.
