We have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Bookkeeper to join our highly successful Accountancy Practice in Borehamwood.  As part of your role you will be completing the of bookkeeping and related ledgers for our valued clients.  When you first join, we’ll assign you a buddy so that you have the mentoring and support you need to excel in your work and provide an exceptional service to our clients.

We’ll need you to have a keen eye for detail, teamed with the ability to spot any inaccuracies or duplications and provide resolutions. Efficiency and accuracy are key as well as exceptional interpersonal skills, effective communication and the ability to work to deadlines.

About you

You will ideally hold a degree in a relevant discipline, however those with relevant experience will be considered. Basic knowledge of VAT law and compliance would be desirable. You’ll be confident in communicating with more senior members of staff and not be afraid to ask questions to assist in your progression.  You will also have:

  • Strong knowledge of accounts or bookkeeping ideally coupled with a relevant degree
  • Sage Line 50 and Xero knowledge or experience would be advantageous
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer operational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
