Job Description

The successful candidate will be a newly or part qualified ACA Chartered Accountant. Support for continued ACA training will be provided, and support for training beyond ACA may be considered for the right candidate.

This role will include client management, supervision of more junior staff, file reviews, and providing assistance to the directors of the business to play a vital role in the continued growth of the practice. The successful candidate will provide accountancy and tax advice and the highest levels of customer service to our wide range of clients.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Two years working in accountancy.
  • Previous client management experience.
  • Preparation of accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Preparation of tax computations for companies and individuals.
  • Review of bookkeeping records, preparation of VAT returns and management accounts.
  • Payroll processing, and benefit in kind returns.
  • Audit experience including walkthrough testing and sampling.

In addition to the above, as accountancy and bookkeeping systems develop and improve, the ability to use cloud software such as Xero, FreeAgent, BrightPay and Futrli will become an increasingly crucial aspect of this role, especially with the impending expansion of MTD. As such, prior experience of such software is desirable, although training and the opportunity to gain accreditation will be available. Experience of the Microsoft Office suite is a requirement, previous experience of Digita accounts and tax software would be an advantage.

This is an excellent opportunity within a growing practice for the successful candidate to join the business and forge a career for themselves at an established firm of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers.
